Northwest Suburban Domestic Violence Awareness Event on Oct 7th

The Northwest Suburban Alliance on Domestic Violence the Human Services Programs of Harper College, Judson University, the HMS Club, and Harper College Office of Student Involvement are joining efforts to host a Domestic Violence awareness event in recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month in October. This community collaboration will spark conversation on the faceted issue of Domestic Violence.

The public is invited to join community leaders, students, practitioners and faculty for discussions on how Domestic Violence knows no boundaries.

Attendees will learn about how Domestic Violence is a leading cause of injury and or death for women. And take away a greater understanding of the variables that confront domestic violence survivors. The conversation will breakdown the barriers of many topics that coincide within Domestic Violence and how it isn’t specific to one gender, group or race.

The event is on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 from 4:30 P.M. – 6:30 P.M. at Harper College Wojcik Conference Center, located at 1200 W. Algonquin Rd. Palatine, IL 60067. Free Registration is available by visiting: http://nwsadvharperjudsonevents.eventbrite.com

This is the fifth year local colleges are joining in this public discussion. Each year the format has changed to provide a better understanding of the large scope of Domestic Violence.

The Clothesline Project, Blue Kids, Silent Witness’s and additional resources on community service providers will be available on site. Contact HMS@harpercollege.edu for more information.
